Bella, 2014

Bella is a dear girl who has been with us a few years now. She is a shepherd type who lives at the village house. Bella gets on well with all her dog pals there, and loves her human carers. She is a bit tubby just now. Given the state Bella was in when we took her in, this is ok! Bella would be ok as the only dog in the home as long as she had human company and access to dog company in the locality. Equally, she would be ok with a friendly calm dog in the home too.

Bella came to us suffering  appalling physical neglect. She had belonged to someone in the village who was working away and relying on other people to look after his dogs  - not that she had the best life to start with. Bella was chained most of the time.  Her ear had literally been eaten away by maggots and she was skeletal. We had to take what remained of her ear off but she is as beautiful as ever.
