Things were hard for many of our adopted pups during the months of lockdown. Socialisation and access to training classes, which are an essential part of successful adoptions, was tricky for some owners. This has resulted in a few fearful teenage dogs being returned. These were dogs who had left as happy pups. Many adopters have worked their way around this, but for some it has not been possible.
Returned dogs is not something that is good for anyone, least of all the young dogs themselves.
As a small charity, manned by volunteers, this knock on, on so many levels, is a big one. However, we have opened up adoption applications for some pups. Prior positive experience with oversees rescue dogs is needed to apply.
