Pio is a gentle, shy lad who is currently with our canine physio in Bucharest for hydrotherapy and physiotherapy. He has been there for months and his improvement is huge. His rigid leg is now used and his mini-me leg on the other side is well in play.
Pio would suit a home with another friendly dog. He is around a year old now.
This lad was languishing for months with distorted hind limbs (he is not paralysed) in a public shelter in north west Romania. when a Romanian friend, living in Holland, got in touch to ask if we could help. He had seen a vet up where he was as there are volunteers who go in to the dogs there and it is no kill. However, the veterinary intervention wasn't adequate and his legs had got stuck. Surgical intervention is not appropriate for his straight leg as his joints have fused.
What Pio needs now is a real home where he can continue to improve and know what it is like to be someone's dog for the first time in his life.
