Sasha is a gem of a dog. She came into our care last year, alongside her sister Sadie.
Sasha was lucky enough to move to Hull in June, to our seasoned and lovely foster mum, Rosemary. These are her words:
In general – in the home, Sasha is without doubt the sweetest and happiest dog I have ever had the pleasure of fostering. Even if you are away from home for a very short time, you are invariably greeted by Sasha running around in circles, wagging her little stump of a tail and showing you every one of her perfect teeth in a doggie smile which could be misinterpreted by some people as snarling, but is actually a display to demonstrate she is submissive and overjoyed to be reunited with you. Her eyes also radiate affection, leaving you under no illusion that this is one sweet little dog without a bad bone in her body. She is fully housetrained, has no known health issues, is fit and active and interested in everything around her. She is a very clever dog and picks up new things very quickly (with the help of treats).
Sociability - there have never been any problems with our dog Max, or my best friend’s dog, Maddie, both of whom Sasha met in the first week in the UK. Sasha gets on just as well with our cat. Sasha is nervous of dogs she does not know, especially large or bouncy ones. Having said that she does not react in an unfriendly way and will seek to avoid some dogs, whereas others she will be happy to allow to sniff her and may reciprocate. She is shy but curious about people that she does not know and would probably not be happy living with small children due to her shyness.
Confidence - she is a not a self confident dog in some ways and prefers to be around other dogs or around the humans she knows. She draws a tremendous amount of confidence from dogs/humans and prefers to walk in a group, happy to follow closely at the back of the group. If supported, she is fine with unusual noises, traffic etc. She does sometimes startle if something or someone unexpected makes an appearance, but she rapidly recovers her composure with a little reassurance. She ideally needs another dog or dogs in her future home, to give her the comfort she needs. She may benefit from being allowed to sleep overnight in the same room as her new owners as she does startle during the night and may bark in order to obtain reassurance that there is nothing to be scared of.  She did live until age 3 with her sister Sadie and she may have relied a lot on Sadie to help her feel safe.
In the home – like all dogs she will sleep a lot at home, in the garden, on the floor or in her crate (with the door removed). She does not jump on couches or human beds. She will run about in the garden sometimes but when indoors she mainly potters around and follows you, although more from curiosity than neediness. She is not bothered by household noises such as the hoover, hairdryer or washing machine. She very much enjoys being cuddled, as well as being groomed and massaged and has been very co-operative with having her teeth and nails checked etc. 
When out and about – She happily goes on walks although does prefer quiet areas and areas with greenery for sniffing.  
 
Sasha will benefit from another friendly dog in the home.
She is around 48cms to the shoulder.
