We should know better than to trust the words of the Mayor of Năvodari when it comes to the stray dog management in his town. He sent the dog catchers out en masse a couple of weeks ago and did a sweep of the area round the beach. Small and big, old and young, no dog is safe in that town just now. This is a Mayor who refuses to discuss spaying in situ which is a far more humane and effective
way to manage the stray dog population.
We have taken twelve of these dogs out so far. Local dog lovers have come to help and many pups have been adopted locally too. Last news was though that the catchers had been out again. Fifty plus dogs are now incarcerated...
